School Hall Project Commences!

Construction on the New School Hall project has begun!

In case you missed it; the tender for the construction contract was closed and awarded by the Department of Education at the end of 2022 (details outlined in the Term 4 Pulse newsletter).

The project started with site preparation including fencing off the perimeter and demolition of the existing toilet block. Heavy machinery has been brought in to clear the site and make way for the new construction. Exciting times!

Currently, the project is expected to take approximately 20 weeks, so it is fantastic it was able to commence during the December/January break.

There will be many of you with questions about the project and we expect to have many more details by the first P&C Meeting in 2023.

P&C Meetings In 2023

In Term 1, the dates are:

  • Tuesday 21st February
  • Tuesday 14th March – this meeting will also be the Annual General Meeting (AGM)

While the hybrid in-person and online meetings were a necessity for a period of time, in 2023 year we will be going back to in-person only.

It will make for more lively updates, discussions, and an overall better connection between the P&C and our members.

We can’t wait to see you at the first meeting.

Clovelly Farm Update

At the end of last year we were hoping to have the Clovelly Farm up and running for Term 1 2023.

With the latest holiday working bee – we can officially say it’s ready!

A big thank you to our volunteers Matt Lewinsohn & David Walsman for their efforts on a very warm Clovelly day!

Canteen

The canteen provides a wide range of freshly cooked items with a special lunch each day.

We have an amazing team that has been awarded the NSW’s Healthy Schools Canteen Certificate for our freshly prepared produce and menu selection in the past. Read more about our Canteen here.

Our mission statement is “Healthy food, healthy kids, healthy minds.”

While we manage, each year sees a cohort leave the school. So please get involved… we LOVE to have parents volunteering in the canteen.

To volunteer in 2023, please let us know by emailing the team.

As a reminder or for new parents, in just a couple of clicks you can order your child’s lunch, recess, birthday basket or special event item by using www.flexischools.com.au

Netball

Clovelly Netball Club is recruiting for 2023.

Registrations are now open for the following year groups:

  • Year 2 – Two teams of 10 players
  • Year 2 – Coaches, team managers, and committee members
  • Year 3 – 1 player

Currently, all other year groups are at capacity. Please email to be added to the waitlist.

Clovelly netball teams participate in the Eastern Suburbs Combined Primary Netball Association (ESCPSNA) at the Waverley Courts on Saturday mornings and afternoons in term 2 & 3.

Year 2 generally play between 2-4pm. Year 3 play between 12-2pm.

Training is held on school grounds either before or after school. The day is determined by the preference of the coach and court availability.

Demand for a spot on the year 2 netball team often exceeds availability. Priority will be given to anyone who can coach, join the committee or manage a team.

Registration cost for 2023 will be determined once ESCPSNA inform the clubs of their fees. Last year registration was $130. Active kids vouchers were able to be used.

Please email the club for more information or to be provided with registration details.
