Canteen News

We’ve had a really busy Term 2 here in the Canteen and are always grateful for the extra help to hit our tight lunch deadline.

Aunty Mar was here for the month of May to cover for Nan Jude, who was bowling in the Australian Open on the Gold Coast. The kids and Aunty Mar had lots of fun together, and we really miss her bubbly character.

We are proud to announce that we have been awarded the NSW Healthy Menu Check Approval for all the delicious everyday options we offer at the canteen. It makes our job easier when we have a bunch of kids who enjoy freshly made healthy meals and snacks.

A big thank you to the parents who use the IOU option on Flexischools to pay for forgotten or misplaced lunches. We are more than happy to help out and ensure your child gets fed.

Supporting the Clovelly Community events is always great. The Mothers & Others Bircher Muesli and Bliss Balls were a sell-out, and the Band parents appreciated a warm cup of pumpkin soup while the kids enjoyed their Bubbleyum Gelatos!

To finish off Term 2, the amazing MEAT STORE provided the sausages for our Sausage Sizzle event. Thanks to Pete, Amy, and Madi (Year 5) for your continued support.

A BIG thank you to everyone who helped out in the canteen this term!

Social & Fundraising (SoFun)

Mothers & Others Self-Care Sessions

We spent the morning of Friday, May 10, celebrating special carers in our lives with the Mothers & Others Self-Care Sessions. Local businesses ran classes for CPS students and their grown-ups to attend, including stretch, meditation, tai chi, yoga, pilates, and dance. We nourished ourselves with Bliss Balls and Bircher Muesli made by the amazing Canteen team, and fresh juices from Cali Press. The friendly team from COOSC helped the morning run super smoothly.

90s Flashback Trivia & Disco Night

Our annual grown-ups-only fun and fundraising night just happened over the weekend, and saw the strongest ticket sales in years. The night was filled with music and entertainment, and plenty of nostalgic 90s prizes. The event is fundraising for an upgrade to the school’s lower field, with a 70:30 raffle fundraiser already underway. Thanks to our event sponsor, James Ball and Nicholas Wise from Sotheby’s International Realty. Stay tuned for a full recap with more photos in the next Pulse!

CPS Staff All-Weather Jackets

The P&C is funding some all-weather jackets for CPS staff to wear on cold and rainy days. They’ll help our teachers stay warm and dry when out and about, like at PSSA games or on excursions, and they’ll also be a polished representation of the school. We hope to have them ready to wear early next term.

Moonlight Movie Night – COMING SOON!

Our biggest whole-school fundraiser for this year is the Moonlight Movie Night, to be held on Friday, September 6. The gates will open at 5pm, and there’ll be lots of food, entertainment, and fun. You can pre-order special glow-in-the-dark merchandise now on Flexischools, and it will be delivered in time for the event. Tickets for the event will go on sale on August 2.

Extra-Curricular Program

We’ve had several exciting new activities join the extracurricular program at Clovelly Public School this term, including drama, soccer, basketball, and science. Our new after-school Homework Club will start next term, and the rest of the activities will continue alongside the other great options already part of the program, such as chess, keyboard, languages, karate, art, and more. You can find the full program on the P&C’s website here.

Other Term 3 Events

It’ll be a busy term with more events on the horizon, including Fathers & Others Game Day on Friday, August 30, and the Year 6 Production, Lend Us Your Ears, on September 17-20, which is always a great theatre experience for students in all years. Don’t forget to follow the P&C’s page on Instagram for event news and photos.

The Clovelly Public School P&C raises money throughout the year that we use to support the school through providing new facilities and equipment or other things the school and students need.

The Building Fund is different to regular fundraising as funds donated have to be used for building new school infrastructure.

Importantly, for any donations to the Building Fund you will receive a tax receipt which you can use to claim tax deductions. All donations to the Building Fund over $2 are fully tax deductible.

Currently, we are fundraising for a dynamic new play area to be built on the lower field. If you’d like to donate follow the link below, or if you have any questions please email the P&C.
