The P&C AGM – February 2022

The Annual General Meeting is held in February of each year, at which time all executive and committee positions are open for election. We are in particular need of a Treasurer and Class Parent Coordinator as we say farewell to Quentin Lea and Jane Lea with the last of their three girls leaving the school this year. A special thank you to both Quentin and Jane for the time they have invested in the school over many years, from volunteering on the committee, running fetes, fundraising and social activities amongst other.

Join the P&C

If you are interested in joining the P&C and volunteering on the committee please don’t hesitate to contact the Secretary and join the next meeting (email: clovellypublicschool@pandcaffiliate.org.au). There are many roles! From Canteen to Band, Social and Fundraising, Class Parent, Grounds & Environment, Netball, Languages and Extra-Curricular, as well as Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President and President. It takes a village.

Projects

A new school hall

The P&C continues to work with the school on the School Hall Project. Drawings from the architect look fantastic, with great use of space in a covered outdoor learning area, refurbished interior, new storage, uniform shop and new toilet facilities. But we need your help!! Stay tuned for the launch of a campaign to help build a hall the community will value for years to come.

Annual staff luncheon

Around this time of year, we’d normally be doing a call out to all bakers, cooks and volunteers to help host our exciting Annual Staff Luncheon to express our gratitude to all the Clovelly Staff (admin, deputies, learning support and teachers) for all the amazing work they do throughout the year. BUT this year looks a bit like last year! So, for this reason we are needing to ‘host‘ a Covid-friendly celebration to honour our staff’s patience, care, commitment and complete dedication to all our children during this challenging 2021.

Instead of cooking and baking for them from our own kitchens, we will be treating all staff to a spectacular catered lunch from a local venue on Thursday, December 16. If you’d like to contribute a small donation to this wonderful event, please donate via GroupTogether.

We know your individual classes may be organising a teacher gift, however this is a chance to acknowledge the staff body as a whole and to make them ALL feel VERY special and VERY appreciated.

Lastly, volunteers are needed for set up before the event, extra help for playground duty during the lunch and clean up after the event. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and we are welcoming the cooperation of Year 6 students as well. If anyone has a couple of hours to volunteer on Thursday, December 16 at any time of the day, please email Bec at: beckboaz@tpg.com.au

Canteen news

No end of term Sausage Sizzle

Sadly, the sausage sizzle won’t be happening this time round due to the current Covid restrictions, which I am sure you all understand. The Canteen will be making Christmas Cupcakes for $2.50 each as the treat for the children on the last day. We will notify parents once it is on Flexischools ready to order for the recess time on the last day of school.

Summer Menu 2022

We’ve finalised the Summer Menu for next year, with many of the regular items still available, such as the Poke Bowls. We have had to reduce the menu at the moment for logistical reasons, so we do hope that everyone understands.

Let your children know what you’ve ordered

Please let your children know what you’ve ordered for them on the day. With two lunch and two recess sessions to prepare each day, reduced staff and a limited menu, our time is very limited. We need your help to let your child know what’s been ordered for them – lunch, recess or both. Many children are asking teachers to check with the Canteen, and it’s time-consuming for them and us. Thank you in advance for assisting not only the Canteen, but also the teachers.
