Thanks to all who help out

As the term winds to a close, we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who helps make the Clovelly Public School community great – our wonderful school teachers and staff, Team Canteen, our Band directors and tutors, the Netball program coordinators, and all the class parents and other parent volunteers who help contribute so much throughout the year. Hopefully everyone is looking forward to a well-earned break over the school holidays.

As per our last meeting, we are still calling for volunteers to assist with two important projects to support Clovelly Public School.

Before and after-school activities

The wonderful Mitch O’Donohue has been doing a fantastic job looking at ways we can improve on the before and after-school extracurricular activities and sports offerings at CPS.

Join us

We need one to two volunteers to work with Mitch, the P&C and the school for a few hours each term to help sort through the various prospective program offerings and ensure we are engaging the best possible set of providers for the school community.

If you are interested, and think you could spare a few hours each term, we would love to hear from you. Email us at clovellypublicschool@pandcaffiliate.org.au or via our online volunteer form.

Hall precinct project

As mentioned, the school and P&C are currently working with the NSW Department of Education regarding an exciting school hall precinct revitalisation project. This project is an enormous undertaking, and one that relies on one-off stimulus funds that the State Government is making available. It will require significant community support and fundraising during the remainder of 2021 if we, the school community, wish to make it possible.

Anyone who is interested in contributing to helping coordinate the fundraising efforts, we would love to hear from you. Email us at clovellypublicschool@pandcaffiliate.org.au or via our online volunteer form.

Come along to our P&C meetings

All parents and carers are very welcome to attend P&C meetings and take part, either as a member or an observer. If you wish to become a member, all it takes is a single gold coin donation. There are two meetings each term, on Tuesday nights. Participation can be in person or virtual, and is entirely voluntary.

Become a P&C member

New membership and participation is crucial if we want to ensure that Clovelly Public School keeps receiving the support it deserves. We all want the school to have the benefit of financial support for capital works, as well as wonderful offerings like the band, canteen, netball club, extracurricular activities and more. But, as they say, you have to be in it to win it!

We would love to hear from you, whether it be about extracurricular activities, the hall precinct project or membership. Email us at clovellypublicschool@pandcaffiliate.org.au or via our online volunteer form.

Canteen Operations

Team Canteen would like to announce that we have successfully passed the two -year review of the Healthy Check Menu by the NSW Education Department. We will proudly display our certificate at the Canteen. This is a great achievement by the team. Our menu meets the criteria, plus we are 95% homemade, delivering healthy meals to the children of Clovelly Public School.

Term three menu

We will commence Term 3 with the Winter Menu and probably will replace this menu midway through the term, as the weather starts to get warmer. We are yet to decide on the ‘menu of the day’ items yet, but we are sure some of the favourites will be back.

End of term celebration

Friday is our last day of Term and the lunch menu for Friday is the ‘End of Term Sausage Sizzle’. Hopefully you have all placed your orders ahead of time, as we usually prepare over 450 sausages in a roll.

Volunteer thank you

A huge thank you to the Canteen Committee who continually support Team Canteen in our roles, and also thank you to all the wonderful volunteers who have used the sign up app Clovelly Canteen — Signup Sheet | SignUp.com to register to assist in the Canteen on a regular basis. Our final thank you goes to Mabel, who is Year 5 student Lucia’s grandmother, and also mother to Cherie at Wholegreen Bakery. Mabel comes in and helps out on a Friday, which is our busiest day. We are so grateful for the added help, especially when she comes in with treats.

Volunteer with us

Term 3 dates will be on the sign up app, if you are inclined to come and help next term we look forward to seeing you. Thursdays and Fridays are the busiest days and the ones we need the most assistance with.

We wish everyone a wonderful holiday break and we look forward to seeing you all back in Term 3.
